Australian Slang - G'day Mate

If you ever visit Australia you will notice a difference in the way Australians speak (accent) and also the words they choose (slang).

Australians tend to shorten their words so sometimes it's difficult to understand when first heard.  For example "Good Day" often turns into the slang version of "G'day" when Australians speak with one another.

The most popular slang term in Australia is - G'day Mate - which means 'Hello friend'.

"Mate" is another term used for friend, and is commonly said in Australia, NZ, and Great Britain.
